Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Staff/Lead Thermal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of thermal and mechanical solutions for semiconductor equipment, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Provide technical leadership, support system integration, and drive projects from design through validation and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of thermal and mechanical solutions for semiconductor equipment, including thermal head, test socket, and test handler systems.
- Drive thermal architecture design, heat dissipation strategies, and temperature control solutions to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and product stability.
- Develop and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks or other CAD tools.
- Provide technical leadership during design reviews, risk assessments, validation, and engineering decision-making activities.
- Oversee machine build, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, including on-site support during installation, qualification, or customer escalation when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in thermal mechanical design, preferably within semiconductor equipment or high-precision engineering industries.
- Strong hands-on experience in Thermal Head, Test Socket, or Test Handler systems is highly preferred.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or other CAD tools for 3D modeling, detailing, and mechanical design development.
- Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermal management principles, and precision mechanical design
- Proven leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in engineering environments.
- Experience in the semiconductor industry is highly preferred and considered a strong advantage.
