USB-C Chassis Probe
Introspect Technology’s USB-C Chassis Probe delivers a precise and reliable way to capture high-speed USB-C waveforms up to 20 GHz. Designed with a true pass-through architecture, its primary signal path links your USB-C source and sink directly, ensuring your system runs exactly as intended.
A secondary fanout path leverages Introspect’s proprietary sensing technology to generate a high-fidelity replica of the source signal, providing both analog visibility and digital insight into live traffic, all without loading or disturbing the main USB-C lines. With its high-impedance design and linear response, engineers can trust the accuracy of every captured waveform.
For DisplayPort Alt-Mode testing, the USB-C Chassis Probe integrates seamlessly with Introspect’s SV5C-eDP and SV7C-eDP Analyzers. This combination enables comprehensive analysis across the Main Link, AUX Channel, and Configuration pins, supporting both physical-layer measurements and full protocol examination in one unified workflow.
- Bandwidth: up to 20 GHz
- Lane Count: 4 USB 20Gbps differential lanes (ML 1-4) plus 2 SBU lanes (AUX)
- Connectors Signal Path: supports standard USB Type-C connector
- Connectors Probing Path: MMPX, SMP
- Maintains Signal Integrity: minimal capacitance loading and high impedance
Introspect Technology’s USB-C Chassis Probe is an innovative solution that enables accurate waveform probing for USB-C streams up to 20 GHz. The primary signal path on the chassis probe creates a direct connection between a USB-C source and a USB-C sink. The secondary fanout path uses proprietary sensing technology to create a replica of the source signal, allowing for analog and digital analysis of live traffic on the bus without loading the primary USB-C signals. With a high impedance and a linear response, the replica waveforms produced by this device are highly accurate, making it an essential tool for any USB-C testing setup.
When used in conjunction with Introspect’s eDP Analyzer products, the chassis probe is a powerful and highly integrated tool for DisplayPort Alt-Mode applications. By connecting an SV5C-eDP or SV7C-eDP Analyzer to the probing path, both analog measurements and protocol analysis can be performed on the Main Link, AUX Channel, and Channel Configuration pins.
