The I2C Active – Level 1 Application running on the Promira™ Serial Platform provides state-of-the-art host adapter functionality. It offers I2C programming speeds twice as fast as the Aardvark™ I2C/SPI Host Adapter and support for the I2C fast mode plus specification. With many new embedded features such as integrated voltage level-shifting, advanced message queuing, High-speed USB or Ethernet connectivity to your analysis PC and many more, debugging your I2C system has never been easier.
Please note, this is an application that requires installation on the Promira Serial Platform.
- I2C master and slave speeds up to 1 MHz†
- Supports standard mode (100 kbps) and fast mode plug (400 kbps) as well as various speeds ranging from 1 kHz – 1 MHz†
- Single slave response of up to 256 bytes
- Use up to 6 configurable GPIOs (4 while using I2C)
- Supports inter-bit and inter-byte clock stretching
- Master transmit and receive and multi-master support
- Asynchronous slave transmit and receive
- Software configurable I2C pull-up resistors
- Software configurable target power pins to power downstream devices
- Repeated start, 10-bit slave addressing, and combined format transactions

Note: Future versions of the Promira Firmware (after v2019-04-23) will not be compatible with API versions older than v1.40. We encourage all customers using the API to upgrade to the latest API v1.4 to maintain compatibility with future firmware releases.
